Why your views matter
Cumbria Music Hub is one of the network of 43 Hub partnerships which cover every area of England. Westmorland and Furness Council is the Hub Lead Organisation (HLO) for Cumbria. In this role we coordinate the Music Hub partnership working with Arts Council England who deliver the national music hub programme on behalf of the Department for Education.
The Music Hub partnership, is responsible for supporting, delivering and enabling high quality music education for children and young people within our local area.
Music Hub grant core funding is used to co-ordinate and support the delivery of music education provision that is in line with the vision, aims and strategic functions for Hubs as set out in The power of music to change lives: a national plan for music education (NPME).
Each year the Music Hub develops an offer which includes a range of Musical Opportunities for schools, including support for curriculum delivery through:
- 🎵 whole class instrumental learning programmes;
- 🎵 projects and performances with professional musicians and ensembles;
- 🎵 large scale singing and performance events;
- 🎵 and CPD courses to support music educators in their roles.
We are keen to understand more about:
- the experience of schools of the current offer;
- what schools would be interested in, in terms of future provision;
- any barriers you face to engagement;
- and other comments you have to share.
Thank you!
