Consultation on proposed Admission Arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools - 2026/27
Overview
All schools must have admission arrangements that clearly set out how children will be admitted, including the criteria that will be applied if there are more applications than places at the school. Admission arrangements are determined by admission authorities. Westmorland and Furness Council (the local authority) is the admission authority for all community and voluntary controlled schools with the local authority area of Westmorland and Furness.
Consultation starts 28 October 2024 and will run for six weeks, finishing on 9 December 2024. Results from consultation will be known in March 2025.
Why your views matter
The School Admissions Code 2021 requires admission authorities to consult where changes are proposed to admission arrangements which will apply in the following academic year. As the admission authority for all community and voluntary controlled schools within the local authority area of Westmorland and Furness, the local authority is seeking views on the proposed admission arrangements and the co-ordinated admission scheme for 2026-27.
You can view the proposals at the bottom of this page.
